Just a Little Prayer

Paul prayed for spiritual wisdom for the Ephesians believers in Ephesians 1:17-18.  It's a wonderful prayer that we can pray for each other.  So my dear sisters in Christ I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give to you the spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him, the eyes of your understanding being enlightened: that you may know what is the hope of His calling, what are the riches of the glory of His inheritance in the saints...  Go with God and have a blessed day!

Sing Praises to His Name

Lately, the buzz around the Christian community in my area has been about the music in church. We say we can't worship if the music is too loud or too old fashioned or it just doesn't soothe our soul the way we need it to. Everyone wants church to be pleasing to themselves. How did we get so off track? Look back with me if you will to 2 Chronicles 5 beginning at verse 12. Solomon had just completed building the Temple for the LORD and the ark has been brought into the Temple.

":12 and the Levites who were the singers, all those of Asaph and Heman and Jeduthun, with their sons and their brethren, stood at the east end of the altar, clothed in white linen, having cymbals, stringed instruments and harps, and with them one hundred and twenty priests sounding with trumpets --
:13 indeed it came to pass, when the trumpeters and singers were as one, to make one sound to be heard in praising and thanking the LORD, and when they lifted up their voice with the trumpets and cymbals and instruments of music, and praised the LORD, saying: "For He is good, for His mercy endures forever." that the house, the house of the LORD, was filled with a cloud,
:14 so that the priests could not continue ministering because of the cloud; for the glory of the LORD filled the house of God." 2 Chronicles 5:12-14 NKJV

Now that is worship! Worship that pleases God. I would venture to say that no one went home after that praise celebration grumbling and complaining about the music. Let's get away from pleasing ourselves and turn back to worshipping God. He created us for His glory. It's all about Him and what He has done. And as if He had not done enough, the best is yet to come!

Sing praises to His name today.

Meow?

It's Friday! And a beautiful day it is here on the East Coast with the cool morning temperature and shining sun. I can't help but think how blessed I am. I ate a nice meal last night, had a good night's rest and awoke bright and early this morning to my cat looking intently at me as if to say "I'm hungry".

Well, she's fed now and so am I. I have been fed my morning feast on God's Word. I am blessed to know that God is in control of every circumstance and He is always working. No matter what this day may bring, I can have joy in the knowledge that My God will never leave nor forsake me. And what I desire most of this day is to be a blessing to my Savior, who made me and placed me here for such a time as this. I hope you have a blessed day as well.

A Spot of Tea Anyone?

The other day I made a pot of tea, not just a cup, a whole pot of a very nice green tea. Alas, my teapot cannot keep up with my coffee pot which keeps my coffee piping for two hours. So, I set out on a quest to make a teapot cozy. I browsed through the fabrics at my local sewing store and came home with the only suitable kitchen quilting material I could find. A rooster pattern no less. I like roosters, at least I think I do. Don't have much contact with them but I do know they are early risers like me and they crow a lot, also like me. With that in common I set out to house and warm my teapot. What a simple project! And the result was miraculous. I made a pot of tea, covered it with my cozy and I had hot tea for two hours. I just love the simple things.

No More Excuses

That's right. No more excuses. I am equipped with a Wii, fitness games, walking DVDs, yoga mat and now...

Yup, an exercise bike. And not just any exercise bike. This one has 16 workouts, 12 resistance levels, games, a holder for my ipod and decent speakers. What more could you ask for? I am now committed to being fit in both body and spirit. If the Holy Spirit lives in me (and He does) then I must do what I can to take care of myself, mentally and physically. I've allowed too many extra pounds to live where they should not and it's past time to evict them. I'm telling you because I need some accountability. So, let the accounting begin! Have a blessed, beautiful day!

The More I Seek You

"The more I seek You,
the more I find You.
The more I find You,
the more I love You."

This song was sung at church Sunday evening. What a beautiful song and so true. There is nothing sweeter than drawing near to God. The song goes on to say "I wanna sit at Your feet, drink from the cup in Your hand, lay back against You and breathe, feel Your heartbeat." Anybody out there need that today? Take a few minutes to just sit at His feet. Get your Bible, your favorite cup of java or tea, and just let Him speak to you. I can't think of a better way to start the day.

Recap, Redeem and Return Praise

On Monday evenings I enjoy fellowship and Bible study with a group of women from my church. We are just about finished with a study called "Me, Myself and Lies" by Jennifer Rothschild. The peak into our thought closets has caused us to throw open the doors and start cleaning. While there are plenty of positive thoughts and emotions, I never knew such negative thoughts lurked in those dark corners. They gotta go. I want the light of Christ to shine in my closet so nothing goes unnoticed in the corners.

Today I'm preparing to recap the events of my day and ask God what he can teach me from them, first about Himself and then about me so I can begin to conform to Him. As it is still morning, I'll meet back here later for the "recap".
